I bought mine and was disappointed with it. It was too loose to hold the jig tightly in the clamp and kept falling out. It is easier to tie without it I found. What a waste of money in my opinion.

Agreed! If you keep it on the neck strap, sooner rather than later, it will fall off and you will loose it. Nice idea, but it needs a little more refinement.

I sent an e-mail about it and this was the response I got this morning   Tyepro Support To Me Oct 15 at 11:17 AM Mark, I'm sorry you are disappointed with your Tyepros. I agree that the spring could be stronger, but I was limited by a couple of factors. First, I wanted a stainless steel spring to prevent rusting. Given that priority, and the geometry of the spring, my spring designer said he could not make it stronger without risking stress cracking before the 10,000 use target. I'm working on a fix which may be a type of a "snap" fit when the tool is closed. It will take a while for this feature to be implemented. You must hold the tool by the indented waist when using Tyepro to thread or tie, for the reason you noted - jigs fall off; especially those near the stated 1/2 oz. upper end of the design. It takes some practice but I have very few customers who are not happy with the tool. The clipper is not very effective with braided line and I will clarify that on my website. Very few tools cut braid well as you likely know. My website indicates that you can use heavier braid for threading eyelets. The light braid is just not stiff enough to easily push through the funnel although I've been able to do it by twisting the line while threading it through the funnel. I have not seen the review you put on TFF and honestly don't know this acronym, but would like to. I don't have easy visibility to all sites where my product is advertised since I don't place the ads myself. I'm a mechanical engineer and had to hire an internet marketing expert to place the ads. As with any new tool, it takes some practice to get the most out of it. Tyepro is also a tool for finesse fishing situations with light tackle. Please give the tool another chance after reviewing the video and limitations noted under Product Description on www.tyepro.com. If you still feel that a refund is warranted, please respond to this email and I will refund your purchase price. Sincerely, Tom

I'd have to agree, More trouble to use than it's worth. I'd rather put on reading glasses than fumble with it I will not ask for a refund, but will not invest any more money on anything else they come out with

I still like mine but the eye does need to be cleaned well. I also pinch the skinny area to hold the jig in place once it is inserted. Works better for me but does take a little getting used to. Could use some tweaks but I would still recommend them to others.

Dollar Tree reading glasses are the answer for sure i keep a pair everywhere and use very small jigs frequently but high vis line helps some as well ..... and holding the jig like 10 feet from my face helps at times when i cant find them darn reading glasses

I recently bought a few of them and tried them out on the lake last Friday. They worked well for me. It was just so much faster threading the eye of the jig than trying to thread it by sight. I do agree about the lanyard and the potential for the Tyepro to fall off so I don't use it that way. I just keep it close at hand.

As with any new Toy, you've got a "Learning Curve", Hey it may not be perfect , I agree the spring is my only Issue and the "O" ring may be a good idea , Gonna try that , BUT !! it beats wearing a pair of READERS on your nose!!. When you don't need Glasses at a distance. I'm not giving Mine Up. If you don't like e'm give them to someone who will......I think this? If your not a patient person willing to slow down and practice using something new , then how can you be a Good Fisherman??? just a thought.

I bought 2 so I could save shipping and I knew one of my friends would want one.I went fishing last Friday used it to tie on a jig.The next time I went to tie on another jig all I had left was the rope. It must have fallen off when I leaned over the boat. Needless to say I didn't sell the other one to my friend. Now I'm out $15 and the shipping to send the other one back.NOT A GOOD DEAL WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THE PRODUCT TO ANYONE BEFORE THEY FIX THE SPRING TO HOLD IT TIGHTER ON THE ROPE!!!!!

I contacted the inventor of the Tyepro this morning and He,Tom was very understanding of the problems expressed by the few members of this forum concerning his product when I brought it to his attention. He informed me that the stainless steel spring being used on the product was constructed to last for 10,000 + cycles and prevent rust however ,he did inform me that he will work to rectify the problem for the few that have purchased his product and those future customers.
