What is your favorite rod to throw a DD22 or a 6XD on that is shorter than 8ft in length?

I have several custom mades for around $180 from Bayou Kustom Rods that do the trick pretty well. For off the shelf stuff, I like the Academy Ethos 7'6" H fiberglass rod. I am not that big of a fan of composite rods (KVD Tour Edition, BPS Crankin' Sick or the Academy Ethos Cranker. Many people like them, but I prefer straight graphite. It lets me feel more and I just back my drag back off a little bit, so a 3lber can pull the drag loose. Don't rip the hooks out like that. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Power Tackles New XLC 7'11 is a awesome 6XD and DD22 rod. It was made for 10XD but works extremely well of the ones you mentioned. Plus there rods are made right in Texas and Tim & Judy Reneau are amazing people to deal with!

Powell makes a deep crank rod that is awesome. Its labeled as technique specific to deep cranking and is maroon colored. Might be tacklewarehouse exclusive dont really remember. Don't know if its still available though as they seem to be changing their lineup

I love my Abu Garcia 7' 6" Veritas Winch w/orra winch reel, grinds deep cranks easy and sensitive all day. Probably one of my favorite rigs, and very cheap setup to boot.

I use the Power Tackle PGC173-7'3" for 5XD to 10XD it's also the same rod Keith Combs uses
And you will not find better people to deal with Tim and Judy are the best!!

Custom Angle rods, hand made in Texas. Dave's hotrod series crankbait rods are $179 and you can choose the handle and grips of your liking. The spiral wrap rods launch a DD a mile. They come between 7' and 8'.

Depends on what price range you looking to be in, lots of good options out there.

Power Tackle... I bought two of the PGC173. Hands down one of the best crank bait rods that I have ever used. It also works great as a trap rod.

I have a Dobyns 805 which does great with those baits, I was just looking for something that will do as well but in the 7ft6inch range in length.

I like the Duckett 7' 11" Cranker for those baits.

Dobyns makes a 765 CB that is good for DD-22's and 6xd.
