Denton is between 2 lakes both about 15 minutes apart, and its took this long to get a sporting goods store! Opens friday and saves me a trip to cabelas or bass pro! Cant wait!

Hopefully they will stock it with what you need and keep it stocked.

The Mesquite Academy is almost worthless due to stocking issues.

Hopefully they will be smart enough to listen to the customer base and keep an extensive stock of fishing lures and accessories. Academy has Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's surrounded by stores. Prices are normally lower and key hunting and fishing supplies can be purchased. Dick's seems to be a Yuppie over priced store.

If Denton Academy has a GREAT store manager - then this store will be a success and they will have a happy customer base.

Waiting to see how well they do.

I find Academy FM is my first stop. Usually, as everyone says, a few bucks cheaper with good selection. Our Dick's in Flower Mound is the worst unless you need a Nike T-shirt or Under Armor shorts. I have tried so many times to spend money there and it seems they never have anything that I need. Both Hunting and Fishing departments are very poor and don't take any feedback as to inventory you may need. Not sure if everyone experiences this with Dick's. So happy Academy opened on the other side of the plaza!

Its my understanding that Academy had plans on building/leasing off 288 years ago but something happened. I welcome the new location and I'm pretty excited.

I can't wait to check out the Denton store. I live 5 min from the FM store and make weekly visits! So happy they opened as I hate DSG. DSG is also not very pro 2nd Amendment. They carry firearms reluctantly. I'd be perfectly happy never spending another dime at DSG.

Went in today. Awesome store. A lot bigger than the Lewisville location. Parking lot was packed as was the store itself.

Fishing and gun stuff was in stock which was good to see. Lewisville would run out of this or that and take months to replenish. Denton carries 10XDs unlike Lewisville.

Typical whitebass stuff was stocked well with mostly the wahoo baits.

Dick's in Frisco is usually a waste of my time also, as is any Gander Mountain...
