Saturday is my son's birthday and all he wants for his bday is to go fishing on a boat with his buddies. I have rented a pontoon boat on Lewisville and will be heading out of Pier 121 marina Saturday morning. I have a couple of other dads and 5 or so 7-8 year old kids. Problem is all of us dads are bank fisherman and don't know much about fishing from a boat. I am mostly worried about finding the fish and knowing what bait to use. Any guidance you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated and would make some boys very happy. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Probably cheaper to rent Tom and his boat and his expertise than the pontoon rental at Pier 121. I hope one of you can catch shad. That said, exit the 121 cut and follow the shore line north. Go about a mile and then set up a drift, depending on which direction the wind is blowing. Lots of submerged points and humps in that area. The cats should be close to the top of them.
