I would be more concerned by these graphs...

We still have about 15' off the end of our ramp so we are good barring a world ending drought.

I found some notes I posted on the TFF from a meeting several years ago that was held at a church in Yantis if I remember right.
There were TPW and SRA employees in attendance.

Quote by SRA employee: "The amount of water Dallas can pump out is approximately 5 feet per year as it relates to pool."

This question was asked: �What is the absolute lowest lake level that can be incurred in which Dallas could still keep pumping water out of Lake Fork.�
And the answer was quote: �We don�t have that number readily available and the truth is, you really don�t want to know.�

Official data from water for texas shows that 1 week ago fork was 6.04 today it is 6.25 that is 0.21 feet low in one week

0.21ft a week has happened regularly over the last few years though. Its not a huge increase even for this time of year. October has been a bit warmer than usual with record heat a few days so far.

Were they pulling water 2-3 years ago as well? That .21' is common out there or at least from looking back at my last 4 years of weekly water level records for Fork.

My interpretation of this graph is that 2012 looks like what an evaporation slope should look like. Steep in the summer and flatter in the fall. This year, the rate has been constant from Mid-May on despite the temperature/humidity differences in the months since. Evap rate in 2013 is difficult to follow due to the rainy fall.

It seems obvious to me that something has changed between the 2012 pattern that makes scientific sense and the 2014 pattern that doesn't without accounting for outside intervention.

Your data here should tell you something, drop of around 3'-0 in the last four months and you can not blame the heat in the past month! I do not like the low water level due to the fact that I have a lake side lot and my cove is drying up fast, it only has 4-5 ft. in it left, but with this said. People, People, People, calm down it will be OK!!

There are other area lakes WITHOUT that pipeline falling that fast or faster as well. Any guesses there. BTW my data goes back the last 3 years and seeing same falls in level each year at same period just about.

Graphs, bar charts, parado charts,pie charts don't mean squat...
We have to deal with the realality of whats happining to our investment as water FRONT property owners... And it ain't good compared to years past barring the 4-yr drought, and stuff like this happens, mother nature can deal us a strange hand sometimes and the sometimes is here and now... Of course all the above affects the condition or health of the fishery, and the huge amount of pressure the lake receives.. Hummmm. The end of an era, I think not, the lake will rebound...

Results of Dallas pumping water out of Fork.

For the month of October Dallas Water Utilities pumped 3,921,520,000 gallons of water from Lake Fork to their East Plant Operations.� That compares to 3,479,076,000 gallons for September.� They averaged 130.72 million gallons per day.�� Actually they averaged much higher than that earlier in the month, but lowered withdrawals to 90-100 million gallons per day towards the end of the month when they started mixing Lake Fork water with Lake Ray Hubbard to meet the Eastside Plant needs.�
The latest news from DWU is that they anticipate continued pumping from Lake Fork at about 90 million gallons per day through the rest of the calendar year unless rainfall provides some relief.� Ken Delregno did say that in January the Eastside Plant is limited to 110 million gallons per day for a 7-week period, so withdrawals from Lake Fork should be greatly reduced during that timeframe.��

The last couple of months translated to nearly 6.5 inches of water removed per month from Lake Fork just due to the pumping.� If they average 90 million gallons per day the rest of the year then there would be about 4.3 inches of water removed from the lake each month in November and December due to pumping.�

The good news of course is that evaporation is very minimal now, water releases by the SRA for downstream users will nearly cease and hopefully rains like the next couple of days will come much more frequently.�
