Took friend Ed D out from 9:30AM to 2:30PM for some white bass fishing and had our best white bass day ever at Cedar Creek: 226 fish: 213 whites, a 24 inch hybrid, 2 short hybrids, 8 keeper yellow bass, a cat and a carp.

We started at the north finger of Spillway Hump and caught about a dozen. Then friends Don P and Leroy C called and said they had located good bunch at the Rock Pile. So we joined them there and caught another 40 or so. They slowed so Ed and I went to Enchanted Isle Ridge and marked a large concentration of fish there. After catching a few we called Don and Leroy, and they joined us. We spent the rest of our time there and only had to move over a little one time to stay with fish.

Almost all the whites were 13 to 16 inches and very healthy. Ed caught the 24 inch hybrid at Enchanted Isle toward the end of the trip. Ed and I used #2 and #4 Mepps, and Don and Leroy used 3's as well as 4's and 2's. Fish wanted the 4 medium to medium fast, and they wanted the 2 medium slow to medium. All fish caught in 12 to 15 fow reeling Mepps up off the bottom.

I saw Don and Leroy at the Log Cabin boat ramp as we both were loading up. I looked for Sand Bass at Merimac, Long Ridge, and Spillway Hump and tried with a #2 and a #4 without so much as a bite. That was my first try with the Mepps and looking for Sand Bass as I typically crappie fish. I started to go over to Rock Pile but as I saw others (might have been y'all) there, I didn't want to crowd in. I'll keep trying and learn how to read them on my electronics and the Mepps technique. That's awesome that y'all had that great of a day! The Lord gave us a beautiful day to be on the water! The Lord is good!

Wow Dennis what a day !! I figured when I saw you leaving your house this morning I would find a report today. Thanks for the report. I will be trying it Saturday with TFF'er Streetwalker. Hopefully we will have as much success.

What a day you had, thats a lot of fish in a short time. Your right about the health of the fish in CC. They all are very scrappy to catch, full bellies and they have a lot of girth. The 23" hybrid I caught Sunday felt like a 12 lber, pulled like a freight train.

@mapdit: Log Cabin is the best place to launch. Turn east off of 198 at Kamman's Exxon (half way between Clear Creek and Caney Creek bridges) and go about a mile and turn right into the main entrance of Log Cabin and stay on the main road, which leads to the ramp.

Fantastic Dennis! The lake looks amazing in those pictures.

We didn't have as much luck last weekend. Did well on Friday, but it slowed down considerably on Sat and Sun. Sorry that our schedules didn't synch up. I'm getting a hummingbird 688 installed on my boat this week. It will be quite awhile before i get back out on the lake though, maybe mid-November. Keep on catching and reporting.
