Hey guys, looking to get a new spinning rod around the $100 range. Curious as to some suggestions on what you think the best and most versatile rod is in that price range. Looking to use it mostly for drop shotting and throwing light weight stuff. Thanks.

I will be posting some rods and combos probably this weekend. I have a power tackle SPN-43 that I will be selling for $150 picked up or add $25 shipped. That is a drop shot rod. Right now it is a combo with a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 3000 on it ($300 for the combo). Let me now if you are interested.

Power Tackle Rods are awesome. Definitely a higher quality than the $100 range. At $150, i wont pass up this deal! Used Power Tackle Rods are rare and don't stay on the market long.

I will tell you from experience. You'll love the TFO 7ft mh spinning rod. AND it's about $99. So right at the price your looking for. I got mine at bass pro and use it for shakey heads and drop shot mostly, but I like throwing squarebills on it too.

I bought the Shimano Compre Drop Shot Rod (7'2") CPXDS72MC earlier this year. It's technique specific for a drop shot, but works fine with most light weight stuff. Paired it with a Shimano Sahara 3000 reel and it's been a good combination.

Pretty whippy with an extremely soft tip, but I've handled 8lb fish on it with no problem. The rod is about $100.00.

Iv'e been pretty happy with my Abu Vendetta medium action rod. I think it was 80 or 90 bucks. I did a lot of research in that price point and narrowed it down to that or A St. Croix rod in the same 100 dollar price point. I always said I'd get a St. Croix next to compare them but I got a smoking deal on a vendetta baitcast for 25 bucks for my other rig I couldn't pass it up.

St. Croix Mojo is in that price range and has been a work horse for me.

Give these a try.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm going to Bass Pro tomorrow so I'll see what they have. Was thinking about the Abu Vendetta but that TFO looks like a pretty good rod and reviews seem to support that.

I would take a good hard look at the 13 Fishing Omen Black. Don't think there is a better rod for $100

Abu Garcia Vendetta probably one of the best and most versatile you can get for the price range (and regardless of price is still just amazing) hands down. For straight drop shotting though the 6' 6" Veritas is amazing.
