So a couple buddies and I go wading in Seabrook this morning and we have waded out and started fishing for a good 30 minutes, when all of a sudden this cigar smoking yay-hoo decides he is going to wade out in front of us (right in our casting zone!!!) and spook all the fish on the reef we were fishing. We warned him not to cross when he first got close to our buddy on the outside spread, but the butt-nugget kept charging on and casting like we didn't exist! We yelled we were fishing in that area first and he replied, "There's plenty of bay all around!"... Which we replied, "Exactly! Go fish somewhere else were no one else has already started fishing!" We then warned him that he just took the risk of being hooked by our lures because we were not going to stop fishing on his account. We continued to cast in our zones we had already been fishing. Some casts were really close to him and some even in front of his casting range. Eventually he go tired of all the close calls and bickering from us and left.

We always heard of jerks on the water like this guy, but we never thought we would experience it.

Please everyone, be courteous to other waders when you are wading and give enough space between you and others so that everyone can enjoy fishing. Also, remember, "The early bird gets the worm!" Respect the guy who beats you to your favorite spot! You should have gotten there sooner!

Kind of like the people that anchor a boat in front of a jetty. You have a boat that goes anywhere! The whole ocean! Why you gotta park in front of a crowd on the jetty?

I may or may not be guilty of launching a 1oz spoon in that situation. Or a 6 oz spider weight.

Potlickers are a disease, and should be dealt with as such. I'll run you up on a mudbar and leave you stranded in half a heartbeat given the chance. Cut my wade off and you'll get cussed until flies won't land on you. It's just not necessary, and certainly not the way we should be raising our children.

Instant success, don't actually work at it, just follow those guys around, we'll catch all we want.
