SKUNKED ON THE CRAPPIE down at the ole Trinity river today !
just bass after bass after bass after bass
and etc etc etc etc about 15 times !
then one of my buds pulls up....and he sez ....
hey how ya doin today ....
I say its pretty #&^%@ bad today as ANOTHER bass goes to the air show
one thing for sure ...the CRAPPIE were there ...
I just couldn't figure out how in the world to ketch one darnit
maybe next time I spose .....

Well if my leader couldn't score on the sac au lait, then I don't feel so bad putting only 3 dinks and one keeper in the boat today! We also hit on some bass but none as big as the ones in your pics!

I just realized something
I think that's the first time I got skunked AND ketched me a limit at the same time

they did for sure keep it interesting
a few didn't start off like bass
told the one guy down there if this here fish I have on is a crappie ( and at that point it hadn't jumped yet)
then its for sure the world record crappie
and actually lost several fish on the hook ups as well
I kind of thought one or 2 might have been crappie
maybe ....

kinda dicey with a pinch on float on 4 lb test
you just know at any second the fight could be over
them pinch on floats eat line and them bass fish was pretty pumped up
I darn sure dint try to jerk none of the bigger ones out of the water for sure

that got discussed with the crew that showed up at the end of the episode
but they wanted just crappie best I could tell
and heard later they only ketched bass as well

never feel bad when they don't go with the program
i subscribe to the ole payback program
sooner than later they will pay with some lip skin is my thoughts
wish I had time to go hit another spot my bud went to
he did pretty well in the am with jigs under a float
one or 2 was pretty fat crappie fish as well
to be sure the river crappie fish are super duper tricky to ketch
i been working on refining the art of Trinity river crappie ketchn a couple a years now
and they still leave me wondering what should i have done different
sure wish i could launch me a boat in that river
with some of them fancy electronics and such
it would be a slam dunk every trip for sure

lots a air borne rangers they was ....
lost a really nice one about 2 feet above the water
it was sending my jig back to me express air mail
never mind overnight ...it was a same day delivery for sure

At least you caught a bunch of bass. They are entertaining. I caught a bunch of them this morning as well. Most on top water.
