http://www.flwoutdoors.com/fishing-articles/156587/2015-tour-rules-and-entry-dates/#.VEVB9CLF-SoAnother change that many pros have long desired has also been implemented. In 2015, co-anglers will only compete on the first two days of each FLW Tour qualifier and the Forrest Wood Cup. Then, starting in 2016, the Forrest Wood Cup will be a pro-only event.Cutting back on the number of days co-anglers fish and eliminating them from the Forrest Wood Cup beginning in 2016 is not a decision we take lightly, said Kathy Fennel, FLW president of operations. Co-anglers are an important part of our business, and we are pleased to continue to provide the best co-angler program in the nation.

I wish they would do away with co-anglers all together.

I see the co-anglers as a needed part of the program. For watching TV, yeah I get why you don't want to see the co-anglers, but the co-anglers help keep these programs running and allow them to get a start in the tournaments.

Many used your same arguments when B.A.S.S. did away with co-anglers in the Elite Series. Exactly how is it that co-anglers help keep these "programs" running? We're talking about Tour level events, not Opens, Rayovacs, etc.

Wow...no more third day and, in 2016, no more Cup qualification, and an increase in the entry fee from $700 to $800. So you now get to pay more for each tournament without the ability to qualify for a third day or the FLW Cup at the end of the year in 2016.
I was considering trying the co-angler ranks at the tour level, but with these new rule changes and an increase in the entry fee, no thanks.

They are having to CUT anglers from the bottom to allow the new ones to get on board.

I enjoy fishing with FLW and will continue to fish with them depending on my schedule for the year. It is always good to start from the bottom up if you are trying to advance to a career in fishing. You guys know what I mean... Some folks need to come to the understanding that fishing the tour may not be there thing. It's okay! If I was on the tour level and always at the bottom and not qualifying for the cup it's time to stop and fish something smaller and maybe try again another time.
