Mariner Sails of Dallas has always been willing to help us out.
For several years, a lrg group of TexasYakAnglers have been getting together at an area lake.
We usually fish, camp, & either boiled crawfish, grill burgers or fry up some fish.
Mariner Sails of Dallas has always been down to help us.
Whether we asked them to bring demo boats out,
help us raise $ for our wounded
veterans through www.HeroesOnTheWater.org or donate prizes for our participants, they have stepped up big.

They've helped folks I know with boat warranty issues whenever they could.
I've personally had issues with a kayak purchased from them & they made it right thumb
Whenever I've visited their store, they go out of their way to help me find what i need.

I believe it starts at the top. The owner has a nack for finding the right crew to help
their customers & he's a real nice dude too.
So, Thanks Mariner Sails & staff for all you do. Ya'll are setting the bar.

Anyone have a recent experience with Mariner Sails they can share? popcorn

I am new to all of this, and went to the kayak rigging demo. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they hired enthusiasts over sales people. They knew i had a kayak that was not of the quality they sell, but they did not look down on me. That has earned them my future business when i upgrade.
It's a long drive for me, but if i know they have something i want, I'll make the trip.
Great selection and they obviously hire people who know and practice what they are talking about.

I've purchased 3 yaks and too many extras from mariner sails and couldn't say enough good things about them. Thanks for all they do for the yaking community.

To echo what everyone else has said, all the staff over there is first class. They treat everyone as a top priority whether you're buying a $2 part or $3,000 boat.

I have no words to describe the level of respect and admiration i have for everyone at mariner sails. They...well...just thanks. For being a great yak shop but mostly just being great friends.

Their great product lineup and customer service aside, what they do for our community and our sport goes way above what would be expected of any retail shop. Proud to be associated with them.

I had ZERO interactions with MS until the last demo day out at Lewisville. I half way expected to be standing around, waiting to be talked to, possibly ignored for a bit as I was thinking this was more of a "clique" type event. Man, I couldn't have been more wrong.

Walking from my car it took 30 seconds for someone to greet me and point in me in the right direction to begin the paperwork. From there, I walked to the shoreline where Dave Potts had intentionally excused himself from a conversation to ask me a directly "which kayak I wanted to start with first." From there he asked a series of questions to understand what I was in the market for, fit me with a PFD, and pushed me out in the water. I wound up placing an order for a 10ft Slayer a couple days later where Dave was in constant communication with me about the ordering process.

Fast forward to last Thursday, I went into the shop to pickup my order, and something I haven't experience since I was a retail manager was actual in-house customer service. I was greeted almost instantly, every associate in the shop made sure I was being taken care of, everyone's enthusiasm for the sport showed as they talked "shop" with me or other customers in there. Dave also walked me through the shop but put no pressure on me to purchase anything, in fact, he suggested I take the yak out first and get a feel for what I want (I had already committed to this idea but to hear it from a sales position, was refreshing.)

My first yak was a craigslist special so when Dave gave me a personal overview of the Slayer, this is what put MS in the category of above and beyond in the customer service category. He gave me my information packet as if giving me keys to a new car.

The lasting impression for me was loading the yak.
Another MS associate helped me load the car and tie it down and when I made the facetious comment of "You sure you want to help tie it down? What if it flies off on the highway?" His response was this, "We try to do everything we can to help and until you tell me to stop, I'll keep helping."

Also, you would expect the sales guy (Dave) to go back to the sales floor, right? Wrong. I had, what seemed to be a viewing gallery as MS staff and customers were watching/helping during the loading process. We shared short stories about previous yak purchases and features on the Slayer itself to just general "where you going to take it first?" type questions. It was then I could see that these guys were just as excited to have sold me this 10ft piece of plastic as I was to have bought it.

Truly a unique experience, my hats off to the team at MS.

TL;DR - MS brings back what I thought was a lost experience in today's retail market - customer service.

I think we are blessed with some great kayak outfitters in the DFW area, but since this is a Mariner thread .. here is my first hand knowledge ...

My first dealing was with the sail loft over 10yrs ago, repairing sails. Then I went paddling with them on whiterock, as they and other kayakers would pick up trash on the water. As far as I can remember you could meet them at whiterock and demo just about anything they have.

Last year I had them bring my final two choices to whiterock and that demo paddle closed the deal, for me on the Native Ultimate 12. I suspect someday, when I expand my fleet to a PA 14 or Slayer propel, it will be decided on whiterock with no pressure semi-private demo.

Can't remember having a bad experience ever in over 10+ yrs.
