Met my good buddy Robert for a day of fishing at CC. Arrived at Log Cabin around 8:15. Glad we didn't get there early apparently there was a bass tournement there today. Headed over to the North end of the lake. Took a look at Long Ridge, Key Ranch and Marimack but didn't see much. Noticed a lot of random returns out in water deeper than 20ft, I think the lake may be turning over. Headed over to Game Warden and stopped there to fish a while. I got one nice hit and that was it. Went out to spillway hump and stayed there rest of the day. Not fast and furious but good quality sandies and 3 nice hybrids to 23". Caught one crappie on a slab, 5 catfish, one yellow and 30 or more nice sandies. Best results for us was to find 17fow back off a little and cast over. Caught a few verticle slabbin but most came on cast out let it settle to the bottom, reel up 4-5 times let settle, repeat. Tried mepps but best for us was minnow shaped slab. Wonderful day to be on the lake. Rob is still recovering from knee surgery and in a brace but was able to put a lot of fish in the boat. He caught 6 before I got my first one.

Well done. I was out all weekend and really got into them at game warden hump on Friday. Probably caught about 35 in two hours. The rest of the weekend was similar to what you described on Sunday. We looked at Game Warden, Spillway, Long Ridge, Staubach etc. We caught very few on Saturday and Sunday. We didn't go over to Spillway on Sunday but should have apparently. We were out of the water by lunch on Sunday and as soon as we pulled the boat out the east wind stopped and it was almost perfectly calm by around 2:00 pm.

Still good fun...

We saw very few real fishermen( grin)Sunday every once in a while a bass boat would fly by. We headed home around 2:00 because we figured that the weighin at log cabin would be around 3:00 and we didn't want to get caught in that mess.
