Has anyone used one of the Rigid Industries lights that mount on a Fortrex TM. Thinking about getting some kind of light up front, but don't know anything about these.
Thanks

I installed one on my fx and really like it.A bit expensive but i bought mine off ebay for a decent price. Very helpful negotiating stump fields before dawn. Just haven't used it much so far. All of the rigid products are top notch, have their spots on tow vehicle and lights up the road like the sun.

I installed one a few months ago. It's handy and bright enough to light up a buoy length running the lanes at night. I still prefer to keep a spotlight in my lap for scanning for safety reasons. It's a great add-on. I'd do it again.

fellas that have one... since you have been able to have your hands on one do you think there is a way to modify it so it will fit a motorguide possibly?

I would think they will be making one for the MG soon. I haven't payed attention to the bracket on the MG units. I'm sure some shop could make some type of bracket... You might look into the Bluewater 400s Spotlight. They are even better than this one. You would have to mount it on a Ram mount though.

I seen what one looked like early this morning. They are bright. Some knuckle head had his on headed straight to me . I hope most people have the since to turn it off when approaching another boat.

I have been reading this and my first thought was about the legality of this. I thought that the white light was always the aft or stern light, especially when running. Red and Green on the front for running.

The only thing I can find about a white light anywhere else on a boat would be a Masthead Light that is above the boat, not at the front.

Any thoughts?

Yeah I really don't think its intended for constant use while running at night...

Use common sense. If another boat is anywhere near your viewpoint, turn it off! Just like using a handheld spotlight, don't point it at other boats, it will "blind" them at night.

FYI.. They make a RAM suction cup mount with a cig lighter adapter wiring harness @ 15 ft for those that don't have a minn kota or prefer not to have it permanently mounted. With the mounts you can choose what light or lights you want-- diffused, spots, or,wide angle. They are LED so they do not draw that much juice and are extremely bright.
