Pulled my boat over to Waco yesterday to take grandson #2 - 15 yr-old Andrew - fishing on Lake Waco. We were out from noon to 4 PM and managed 37 keepers: 35 white bass, a crappie and an LMB. Also caught a bunch of 8 inch sandies - good sign for next year. Caught fish on old Hwy 6 roadbed and on top of old dam - now submerged. Fish were in 14 to 17 fow and all caught on #4 silver Mepps. I had read where some had caught limits at the bubbles, so I went over there for 1st time. There were a couple of boats fishing it, and I eased in close enough to watch and make a couple of casts with a Mepps. Left after 10 minutes when I got no bites and saw neither boat catch a fish.
A good surprise was when I saw that my Mid-south US map chip from Lakemaster had contour lines for lake Waco - I had not been able to find a paper contour map of the lake.
This trip beat the heck out of watching Baylor and A&M play, no - attempt to play, football.

Another pic of Andrew with his new cousin (since we couldn't see face in previous pic)
