So is it safe to say half the boats out there are either ranger or skeeter?

It's safe to say that half the people on this board maybe have skeeter or ranger but I don't know about in general. If I was buying one and money was no object, I think my choice would be Bass Cat, Skeeter, Ranger.

I bought a Triton because I was looking for specific things, and it's my first real boat, and I was staying under $20k. Brand wasn't that important to me. But after being on the water a lot since then, I still really like my boat a lot but when I upgrade I plan on looking at Bass Cats and Skeeters first.

Mine is a Triton and I have been more than happy with it, but if I was to buy another new boat, I would look at the Basscat first and probably stop there. I like the "family" business about them.

I would think Mercury would dominate the outboard poll followed by Yamaha and then the rest. If I re-power my boat, I'm probably going with the Etec HO, seen to many "whats wrong with my Yamaha threads".

That's pretty much what I figured. I know Texas guys love their Skeeters. And Rangers are common just about anywhere. You get into the South/Southeast and you see those guys like to go fast.

You can't go wrong with a Ranger or Skeeter or really any boat now days. But I feel like Basscat is really starting to catch up and a lot of people are converting to BCB or at least considering it. I definitely like what they have going on

I have owned 6 Ranger boats, & just purchased a new Bass Cat
So far I have no complaints, Fast, good in rough water, dry ride

You missed one..
I know there are some who have never seen one.. However I fish a trail which has had as many as 6 in the same tournament..
As crazy as it may sound this same trail has been sponsored by Ranger for about 30 years now.. They also have given away from 1 to 2 Ranger boats every year since they started.

The boat company you missed was the first to build an all composite bass boat and has been around for well over 50 years.

BCB has been there for about 10 years. After owning (in order) 2 Skeeters, then 2 Rangers, I am now running a BassCat Pantera IV and do not foresee ever switching to another brand.

Quote:
Composite materials (also called composition materials or shortened to composites) are materials made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, that when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components. The individual components remain separate and distinct within the finished structure. The new material may be preferred for many reasons: common examples include materials which are stronger, lighter or less expensive when compared to traditional materials

Pretty much all boats are composite. Just like like all foods are organic foods. Another term that people just throw around to sell a product.
This would be a great poll to have on BBC to get a better picture of what boats are popular over the entire country.
You also forgot Tidecraft. I have 2 of those and they are great for storing broken parts and having a nice place to grow plants in.
