Its that time of year agian, winter is comming and the big cats come to play. The last one last year was fun but tough wind and water conditions. This year i have consulted with those in charge of weather and they said it will be prime fishing conditions. So far the dates are nov 21-22 and those who wish to fish sunday....its at little ridge park on lake lavon. We will add details as they come in.

Whoa! More fun? Cool!

Thanks for making it to the meeting last night Christian, we got 10 new donations to HOW from new MSKFC members. Thanks also for getting a Catfish Camp on the books for this year!

Where are some places to stay at the lake for that weekend? Camping or cabin rental would be fine for me. I definitely plan on being there!

Little Ridge has no camping but you can camp at Lavonia Park or East Fork Park. I will be a 10 to 15 min drive to Little Ridge Park from these parks. Here is the website for camping.

Fun, fun, fun. Just got off the Lavon fishing forum checking to see if Collin Park ramp is open, it is not. Hopefully they just placed another couple of barrels by the water and have not gated it. Someone posted that the gate to Little Ridge is closed. Might want to monitor. I know there is nowhere to launch at Lavonia that does not require a long dangerous carry over rocks. Pray for rain.

Sounds like little ridge is closed. Park and Ramp according to this.

East Fork may be the only option this Winter.

I haven't had a problem launching from the ramp even when it's closed there, but they may feel differently about a big group. Lavonia has campgrounds, and the very northernmost spots have a relatively easy haul down to the water(it's dirt at least and not rocks. It's probably 75 yds to the water, at least it was the last time I was there). And parking spots nearby. It's a bit of a paddle over to where little ridge is, but there's a lot of deep water between it and the Lavonia. Might be a good option anyway!

Railroad construction has Lavonia closed down too unless I'm mistaken.

East fork is a park on Lake Lavon. Its on the south end of the lake.
