From what I understand.. right now it's a bunch of gotta measure to make sure they are legal Stripers. Catching a bunch of them.. and then the sandies are always biting.. With the fish growing the way they are we should really have some nice fish in two years

Got there kinda late this morning around 9 so figured missed the topwater bite. Launched at East Loafers. The ramp is good. We ran over to State Park and caught about a half dozen undersized stripers and around a dozed sandbass. Kept 4 for supper and was off the lake at 12. All fish were caught on slab/grub rigs or trolling hellpets. Find the bait, tap on your boat, and the whites will come to ya. Hope this helps

Forsanmedic, "tap on your boat"...can you expand on this technique? I'm back on the water after 20 year absense...trying to get up to speed on the latest techniques. Any help is appreciated. May be going to Whitney for the weekend.

Tap on the boat can be one of many methods to attract fish in the area. Some use an implement (stick, handle) to tap on the side or bottom of the boat. Some have built there own motorized tapper and others (like me) just use my foot. Does it really attract fish?? Some say yes, some say no. SOme say it disturbs them when other boats are doing it.

Are you fishing points or the creek channels? I'm still trying to figure out how to catch whites.

Points, humps, roadbeds mainly. Look for the bait and the whites will be close
