This is an awesome thread, I have a chocolate lab. She's amazing and been on many trip in my old jon boat. Unfortunately she sheds way to much to take her in the skeeter.

Thanks Lee and yes she is always ready to go and waiting on you to land a fish. MurryDog - she is a purebred miniature yorkie and she was about 1 1/2 in that pic. i have always had larger dogs but this is my wife's dog that adopted me. she is usually with me except on hot days.

I ran my dog over in the boat. She hasn't gone since.
Meant to be funny, but a good warning for you dog owners. Rock that stump and they can't hold on and flip overboard. Lucky I had a long shaft mud motor and lifted it up instead of chopping her up. (She went the entire length of the boat under it...she was hanging off the front deck riding across the lake when she flipped over.)
My dog has used all of her 9 lives....she stays home now.
You can avoid having ulcers by adapting to the situation: If you fall in the mud puddle, check your pockets for fish. ~Unknown
Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.
No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

had alittle black dachshund named crickett for 16 yrs. she loved to go and would always get excited when i would prep the boat and tackle the night before a trip while in my shop. she would always make me smile.i would dip her in the water on hot days.she loved to go fast to cool off. she knocked me out of the boat once and i knocked her out of the boat twice.we always had fun. some outdoor writer back in the 60's wrote that dogs don't know how to fish but understand the importance. crickett would let me know when she had to [censored].people on the lake would always ask wheres your dog and i would wake her up to see them. very good partner

I took my dog on a boat ride the other day in my new to me boat and she curled up under the passenger console once we got on plane. After we slowed down I noticed she carped on the floor. I guess I scared the carp out of her!
