Just took my two year old Boston terrier out to lake worth for the first time. It wore her out but she loved it and handled the heat well. Now all we need is water and some bass to bite.

Have 2 blue heelers that go with me. They love being out on the water. When I'm at the house backing the truck up to the boat they run to the truck and jump in.

I had a chocolate lab that died earlier this year that I took out 90% of the time I went. When I need a break I would pull over to shore, let him run around and then throw something in the lake to let him swim around for a while. Yes had to clean boat often, but he was a great boat partner.

Here's my report from last Saturday that was posted in a different section. FYI, a 110 lb Weimaraner that is a bad mood does not make for a good fishing partner...

(However, this trip was rare, he's usually great in the boat.)

My signature picture says it all..... My buddy helps me watch for a bite. If fishing with a cork, she will watch it for a long time then look at me like "Let's try someplace else"

My first lab went with me a lot. I remember hearing the bilge pump kick on one day - or so I thought. When I looked back he had hiked his leg on my back pedestal and was watering the back deck. No biggie it was only a Bass Tracker.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I have a Jack Russell and he is the smartest dog I have ever had. He thinks he is a Labrador, he tries to retrieve everything I throw. He cant swim very well but put a life vest on him and you cant get him back in the boat.

He is 14 years old now and sleeps about 26 hours a day.

there'd be a shortage of fishing poles
