We left Dallas friday around 7-8, and ended up going to Port a and got there at around 3am. First stop (in the dark) was Wilsons cut. Threw some topwater and tried to find some live mullet but was only able to get 1 and a few live shrimp. Didnt stay long there so we went to the packery channel. I fell asleep in the car til 7 am. Got up and joined my buddy and saw a few guys catching a few small flounder and trout but no keepers. Tide was incoming and we started free lining live mullet since there was surface action and making the mullet jump. Caught more ladyfish (poor mans tarpon) then we intended. My buddy hooked up into a trout! 17inches and my other buddy hooked into a 24" slot red.

After it slowed down at the packery we ended up going to the north jetty and man it was crazy! wind from the north was blowing hard! Seen some guys fishing the windy side and seen some with stringers of reds and specks! So we decided to go on the surf where the wind was blowing and where the birds were diving! Bait fish everywhere! you could see fish in 8-10 inches of water! Ladyfish were everywhere! Probably caught over 50 of them between the 3 of us! Of course we didnt keep any but they were fun to catch. After fishing for 3 hours we ended up with 2 Slot Reds and 3 Trout! Switched up to a cocoamoe and thats when we really started gettin them!

We called it a day after that. Next day we decided to go to the south jetty and ended up catching 2 Spanish Mackerels and a lane snapper.

We only stayed til about 130p and left to come back home and this is what we ended up with..

3 Slot reds, 4 Spotted trouts, 2 Spanish mackerels, 1 Lane Snapper. Not bad for our second time goin to fish saltwater!

If you wanna catch keeper trout go to the kaufer pier at riviera tx... my buddy and I always kill it there and most trout are typically always keeper size. We release them though.

I thought I saw a post stating that you are from the Keller area? I am from North Hurst near Keller and I am looking for some advice for fishing Port "A" area.

Thanks
