All the stripers I've been catching shallow lately have been very skinny, not even worth trying to bring home, even the 18"-24" ones. Has anyone else been having this problem?

Saturday a week ago I caught 26 fly fishing out of my float tube at Texoma. Tuesday I caught 6 more along with a 2.25# smallmouth. Yesterday I caught 8 more stripers between 16"-22". Almost every striper had virtually no belly, they were all extremely skinny.

Most striped bass in lakes are skinny at the end of summer. Starting in November they will begin getting healthier until spring when the females will have bellies.
Keep em tight!

These cold fronts are helping things. The two overs I caught yesterday were nice. Largest went 18lbs 36" long. The unders though caught in the same area were way under. I gave up fishing Texoma for a while because all I could find were dinks too but I think as the weather continues to cool she will produce the big girls more consistently.
