 Pressure 30.12 and dropping .02 a hour

I have heard that if pressure changes more than .01 a hour I should just go home...but I have also heard this only applies to shallow fish (<15').
If you were fishing this evening what depth would you start looking?

ive always heard that if the pressure is steadily dropping, thats the time to be out fishing......its been explained to me this way....when pressure is high, it puts more pressure on the fish, which makes them move around less, and less active... but when pressure is dropping, it lifts the pressure from the fish and they are able to move around easier and are more active....but idk how true this is, and have never really confirmed it myself...nor do i know personally if any of the above info is correct at all, thats just what ive been told...so dont hold it against me if its wrong... lol....but i have heard and read articles, that what seems like the perfect day to fish, may just be the worst( bright, breezy, and sunny with no clouds). and the best time to fish, is when you would think would be the worst. overcast, cloudy, pre storm weather, during a storm, etc) pretty sure i read that in a fishing magazine article too....

Fish in 18 to 24 ft assuming you can mark some decent fish in that area , just a guess

Normal barometric pressure is 29.92
High pressure is anything 31.00 and above, low pressure is 29.00 and below.

Normal barometric pressure is 29.92
High pressure is anything 31.00 and above, low pressure is 29.00 and below.
Standard atmosphere pressure is 29.92. However, pressures of 31.00/29.00 are extreme pressure. Rarely will you find pressures north or south of these values. In fact, 29.00 are pressures you find in a hurricane. The North America high record is 31.85. You can ask 5 people their definition of high/low pressures and you'll get 5 different answers. Looking back at the last 7 days, the high was around 30.20 with the low around 29.85. Seasons will play into it as well, summers you'll see the pressure on the high side and winters you'll find some of the lower pressures.

One thing I've learned down here in our marine biology class is that when the air pressure is high it increases the air pressure In the fishes air bladder causing the fish to feel "full" this not eating, when it's low pressure it relieves the pressure on their insides causing them to want to eat, just my .02

This explanation makes sense to me. Prefer the cloudy ,low pressure windy days but if allowed the time to fish I'm going whether it be high,low or steady pressure. Not a big fan of the dreaded light & variable wind speed though.

I'm very interested in this, minowkiller, could you elaborate? We can take it to PM if that's easier Ya no prob, think of their air bladder as a balloon, if there is high air pressure that means that the pressure of the air in the balloon will rise as well expanding the balloon, now if that "balloon" was inside of you by your stomach that expansion of air inside of it will create a "full" feeling in your stomach making you not want to eat, on the other side of there is low air pressure the balloon will either not expand or actually shrink a little creating more room in the abdomen making you feel hungry
