Slow trolling for crappie is around the corner. This is a good way to try trolling without drilling holes in your boat to mount rod holders. I have Bee Ready's and love them, but I was anxious about mounting them without knowing if I'd like trolling for crappie or not. Needless to say, I do!

Here's the video posted below and the photos of today's project. This was made from scraps around the house. The bucket was $3. You can buy these blue buckets at Lowes for $2.79. Add 3 gallons of water and the bucket weighs about 25 lbs. Keet it between your leggs while slow trolling and you also have a place to keep your minnows. You can buy and bubbler for $10 or less to keep your minnows alive and just attach it to the back of this bucket.

Great ingenuity! clap clap clap

I used cb truck mounts from ebay to make mine. They clip around the rail so there are no holes to drill. But I have around $5 each in them.

I will if I ever get back to my pontoon. I haven't been to the slip since March. Health problems of one sort or another has kept me under house arrest. frown
