Its the information age. I used to live in ector when it was a good fishery, sort of under the radar. But its too small a body of water to support all the fishing its had in the last 10 years. Wally marshall took the outdoor editor of the dallas morning news and made a video of it probably 8-10 years ago. After that, the locals who fished it regularly noticed an increase of fishermen. I really didnt notice it because for me, lake bonham was where i went for a "quick fix." 99% of the time i was going to hugo or texoma.
I was told that a few locals had approached the city council to pass an ordinance that required proof of bonham residency to be able to fish it, but since you have to buy a special sticker to use the lake and alot of bass guys didnt live in bonham, that wouldnt work.
I haven't been in years and probably won't ever go back. It will probably always be on a 3-5 year cycle from here on out.

I don't think thats possible with bigger lakes. Thats why there is a limit of 25 a day. I know cody, gary and cliff will tell you that RR has alot of quality fish. I haven't devoted near the time to RR as I have to fork and texoma, but I think there are a ton of good fish there. It seems to me at RR, that when the bigger fish ain't biting, it doesn't matter where you go on that lake. It seems to be a lakewide phenomenon. Thats just speculation on my part. I wish A&M would do a yearlong study at RR. I'm starting to think the normal rules of fish behavior don't apply, and I'm convinced that 90% of the problem is me not dedicating the time to figure out what's going on. Just my 2.
