So I got all moved into my house out here in Cali and notied a HUGE problem! 3 open racks in my rod racks! Add to that the fact that now I go on deployments to Florida for training I need a pack rod set up so I can deploy with quality rods. F-18 squadrons know how to roll! So I ordered a diawa arntd 7 ft MD action 3 PC rod and diawa Procyon ex 3000 reel. I will spool with 300 yds of 10 lb power pro and run a 30 inch 15 lb florocrdon leader. Should be a nasty rod for sets to Florida! Man I can't wait to nail some fall reds in the panhandle!

Where are you in Cali, I make it out there about once a month or more to the LA area.
So far haven't really found and good places to bass fish. I'm thinking about making the long drive up north to fish the delta. I may have to look at salt options around the LA area. I haven't even found any good tackle shops close by which is always a good source for fishing info.

I am stationed at miramar on the north edge of San Diego. Having been fishing since I left Texas and am itching to get out! The forums here are not what they are back there as far as rigging tip, places to go, reports with good info etc. I need to hit some of the local kayak shops and try to get some info. I live in alpine which is up in the mountains and there are a bunch of little lakes around but man they are packed on the weekends. They all look like marine creek up by ft worth.
