I would consider getting a pro angler if transport wasn't a problem for me right now. The only Hobie on my radar is the Outback I just wish the 13-14 models had a better seating option. I want a high back chair like what's on the PA's and Native's Slayer and Mariner. Decisions decisions....

Nathan, you should be able to buy a framed kayak seat from one of the major mfrs and build a base to mount it on in an Outback. I had talked to Robert Field about it at one time, but I don't think he has done anything with it. He was saying that he had seen a chair installed in an Outback on the web, and really wanted to try it. I rented 2 Outbacks and an Adventure for my family in the Keys for 2 days once, and I wouldn't own any of them with the standard seating position. But, this might be different-

Since you put 13-14 in your post, I am assuming that you heard the 2015 outback gets a new seat like you want.

The new 2015 outback looks like a nice makeover.

Yeah I heard about the 2015 getting an upgraded seat (and price frown!) I was hoping if I went that route to find an older year model that might be on "sale" Ill have to check into seeing baout making an aftermarket seat work.

We'll have the new 2015 Outback at our Sept 27th Demo Day at Hobie Point on Lake Lewisville. What the heck, why not give it a try...... just for fun!

You could wait for a demo day or a boat show that comes to your area and you should see some pretty nice discounts on the hobies. Might get it alittle closer to the previous models sale price

At around $3k for a kayak that is unstable according to one of our members that has flipped his 3 times! That's a lot of loot. I will stick with my destroyer of fish, x-13, not the battle ship that flips.

Where u at Bruce? Back me up!

Almost forgot. REAL MEN PADDLE!
