Getting ready to cast and paint some jig heads for this winter.

Which type hook is preferred? Bronze or saltwater?

I use the 635 series (SeaGaurd) Eagle Claw on all of my jigheads. Corrosion resistance = sharper tips for a longer period of time = better value.

I went with 635 hooks for most of them. Couldn't find the 630 in the larger sizes. But I did save a few dollars by going with the 410 instead of the 413.

If the hooks rust out it's an excuse to make more. smile

We are switching our jig head hooks to 730 black platinum eagle claw. They are more expensive, but worth it. I will keep one jig head with 630.

I'll have to look into the 730.

Thanks! I'll be there during the open house. I'd like to pick up a few of each size to try out.
