What are all us boat fisherman gonna do this winter with all the lakes about to be unlaunchable I guess ill be fishing Texoma more

I reckon we'll have to resort to fishing the same way all the non boaters do

Both lakes closest to me are almost full, but they also don't have the blue population of other lakes. I know one thing....it's an awfully long paddle in a kayak to where I fish on Twok.

Bad bloom of Blue-Green Algae killed about 90% of the catfish in the lake this summer! They were scooping em up with backhoes, sad deal really. But don't waste your time up here, hopefully in 10-12 years it will once again be a descent fishery!

Heck yeah that would be sweet ! I'm actually expecting to see a triple digit this winter / spring caught by someone, there running out of places to hide and with lower lakes the threadfin die offs are more common so that's extra weight also

Yeah we are hurting real bad up here in N Tx/ S Ok. This is lake waurika last week its 20' low. Its alreyad a shallow lake. All the water you see besides the channel is about 2' deep. The dry land pic is what I was fishing last winter

Unfortunately, it appears that the state has suspended blue catfish stockings...probably due to budget cuts, which is unfortunate because fund 9 (TP&WD) has over $89M in it that the legislature refuses to allocate. It has federal dollars in it and a 1930s piece of legislation prevents the Texas legislature to use it or the interest for anything else but parks and wildlife. Unfortunately they have figured out a way to use it as an offset to deficit spending and "balance" the budget. To put it simply, the state legislature is holding parks and wildlife money hostage so they can spend more money on medicaid and welfare.

I guess I could get an Ok fishing License and head all way around Tulsa.
