I'm starting to think chef mike is really an insect taxidermist who shoves hooks into dead bugs in an effort to impress fly tiers.

Anybody with me? grin

Total agreement. Notice the subtle advertising. It's a clever trick he's using to get the insect taxidermy business all for himself. Think about it, how many times have you stopped and thought, "wow, that is a huge doodie beetle. I'd like to see that on my wall over the mantle. But I don't know anyone that can do it." In comes the sly Chef Mike..."Doodie beetle you say? If there's nothing on t.v. tonight, i'll see what I can do." BOOM! He's got ya. Just wait until you get the bill. You'll be handing over a huge pile of dough for that doodie.

j/k, You're awesome Mike!

In all seriousness, chefmike you take realistic tying to a whole new plane. I am always fascinated by your work, and cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

Still laughing here................you guys kill me with your American humor. It's not the first time that someone has said I take a real insect and stick a hook into it. Maybe I should take this as a compliment?............ha ha just joking
Seriously I am glad to share my work with any fly tyers and will always help with questions if I can
Thanks for the input COFF and I will keep posting flies as long as you all want to see them
Mike

Buddy, it is absolutely a compliment. 100%! We call it breaking balls, and we don't do it unless we like or respect you.

Having had the pleasure of attending a fly show and fishing with Mike, I'm convinced he could keep a group of men in one room occupied with tying lessons, and their wives in the kitchen learning his culinary secrets. Make for an interesting evening, and I'd host such an event up here near Dallas.
