Trying to find a 24/7 Bait shop around Port Aransas or Causway Bridge. Will be going to Port A around 3:00 AM and will need some Dead Mullet or Menhaden.

Tell the wife you love her and then ask for an small section in the freezer. Use an castnet when your out fishing. Bring home all of the unuse bait and place them in multiple ziploc bags. I never worried about dead bait since I always have an bag or 2 with me.

Live bait is another problem tho.

Since being sick, I have been fishing at the park near the house, nothing to brag about, but close and something to do. Once every week or two I go to Boyd's on the Dyke and buy a few pounds of fresh dead shrimp and mullet or whatever I feel like trying for a while.

I take it home, and split it all up into smaller portions and freeze, I always have bait to hit that little park and pass the time away, almost daily as a matter of fact.

A little tip, if you are going to freeze shrimp, pinch or clip off the heads, and freeze them in a separate bag. The guts are in the head and the bacteria in that portion of the shrimp will cause the shrimp to go bad quicker. By taking off the heads, If I keep them cold, I can get a few days out of them after thawing.

Next trip, use the heads for either chumming or they can actually be used for catching bait fish.
