Sign up for #32 has begun and will run through September 30. Jigs need to be mailed to me by October 15th. Standard rules apply. Less than 15 tiers we will tie 2 per tier, more than 15 we will only tie 1 each. I would like to see some crawfish, craw dad, or mud bug ties. Feel free to just use standard craw colors or to leave your comfort zone and tie something completely new and innovative.

This! And maybe "Favorite Fall or Winter Pattern" overall or on your home lake might be a good theme

Joined this site (Thanks KickingBack) because of the swaps. Now, I am a non Texan and fish for Yankee crappie but would love to join in on your swaps. IMO the sooner the better for a start date. Jigs make good X-mas presents and stocking stuffers. I always need an excuse to tie a bunch.

welcome

You will enjoy the Jig Swaps because these guys tie some awesome jigs that should work well for you on those Yankee crappie.

Although, I bet you have never seen a 1oz crappie jig with a double aught hook and six inch feathers that we tie and use down here because everything is bigger in Texas. Heck, I fish my on 50lb braid because I hate losing those six-pound crappie. Did I mention we have to make sure we use a wire leader because our crappie have really sharp teeth? wink rolfmao wink

Looking forward to seeing your jigs.

Tied my crawdads, took to the river to see how they looked. the one I chose caught 2 smallies and a white bass before I lost it in the rocks. 1/8oz aspirin head, olive guinea tail, green yarn body, craft hair piece for pinchers Watermelon head with orange belly and irridescent eyes. Was not quit what I was planning on making, but it worked so I stopped tinkering. see pic

and after reading your post tried a texas crappie jig. Its kinda small 5" head to tail. 1oz though and casts a mile or so on 10# braid see pic

Glad to be here. But will not be making 1oz jigs for swaps.
