I am looking for advice from inshore fishermen on the topic of color selection when it comes to fishing for speckled trout and flounder. My tackle company has been geared towards the freshwater market (specifically crappie) for going on five years now, but with some recent reports from folks down on the coast, it appears some of our jigs closely imitate glass minnows.

My question is this: What colors do you have confidence in when targeting speckled trout and flounder during the day time. My next question is what colors do you have confidence in when fishing at night? If you're on a hot bite right now and don't want to give away any secrets, feel free to PM me or email me at lane@constantpursuitoutfitters.com. I'm not looking for anyone's secret bait, nor am I trying to throw out a sales pitch. My goal is to produce something that when anglers such as yourself put on one of our baits, they have a positive outlook on their chances for catching fish.

Here are a few of the "glass minnow" look-a-likes that I have been told work well. We have a flounder bait and another trout bait in the makings right now, but it will be a few months before they are ready to be put on shelves. I appreciate any input you are willing to share. Thank you TFF!

I like these colors too, add a Chartreuse one in there for a change up. Glow or a highly reflective bait works great at night for Specks also.

I like a clear with red flake or root beer with gold and red flake curly tail grub for Flounder.

It is just me, but I usually never use anything over 3 inches long, anything longer seems to get me a lot of short strikes.

Saltwater companies have gotten a bit skewed on some colors, I've been ranting on Norton about changing the color of their pumkin seed, the new color is dog turd brown, not nearly as effective as the original pumpkin.

New Junk Color:

It SHOULD be this color, exactly:

Plum/chartreuse and plum/white are two of my favorites. I also like motor oil sparkle/chartreuse and black/chartreuse.

Chicken on a chain was a hot number for a while, what ever happened to that one?

Ya'll keep it coming. My goal is to provide 10-15 color options that are as close to perfect as possible. The more feedback I can get from those who are passionate about the sport, the better I can serve you, the angler.

I use Plum/Chartreuse - year round - and catch trout n' reds n' flounder, ... year round.

2nd choice would be Glow/Firetail
