What a time we had. Memories for a lifetime.

My Brother Roger Vann (that works at North Texas Lumber in Graham), his son-in-law and my nephew Blake Seyler (owner of Texoma Foam Insulation in Graham) started off the day getting to the Woodson field about 5:45 am. Unloaded the Ranger, loaded Dusty the lab pup, loaded our junk and headed out. Got to the place we wanted to hunt and there were already lots of folks sitting on chairs waiting. Dangit I thought to myself but we ventured on and set up. Blake and I set up our Mojos and decoys. Roger didn't. We waited until shooting time and the dove started flying. My gosh if you passed on Geroge Green's Puddin's Doves this year you flat missed out on the best year I have seen in all of my 58 years. We shot our first shot at 7am and had to quit at 8am. My brother limited first and sat back and waited on me. I had 13 and a Eurasion. Killed the next 2 on the next flock. Blake was at 12 and nailed 3 down and we all put our hands in the air and I said No Mas No Mas! The hardest thing was to watch the hundreds maybe thousands of birds still flying after we limited. We all 3 got a beer and drank a toast to a memory like we never had. It sounded like Cox's Army going off all morning and was still going when we left.

It is still not to late to get in on the lease. $220 for September and October and after the first weekend you have access to all fields. I think it will get better by the weekend. The new Tri-Star Viper G2 I bought for this year was an absolutely flawless shooter. Now I only shot 2 boxes and probably ran through the first box figuring it and the new shells I was shooting for the first time. My brother said, "for someone that shoots as bad as I do to limit and limit first of our group was a heck of a day". I was absolutely thrilled for him too. First limit he has had in over 20 years.

I tell ya what Joe, if you could lift a gun and point it, anyone could have limited there today. Best I have seen in 58 years. I should have limited in 30 minutes.

When their there it's awesome. Gabriel got 5 on that field I told you about. It was not great.

I'm glad you posted a picture of Mr Vann. I have spoken to him on the phone several times, but have never gotten to put a name with a face. Looks like one heck of a time Bobby!
