We went out for a morning trip on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day
Cooler than normal temps and light winds
Tim, Glen & Brady had met us and we were fishing within sight of each other for the most part
We idled out from the boat ramp to a stump/submerged tree top and instantly Belinda announces
FISH ON Belinda stuck this fish on a Sapphire Sparkle Slab Bug
The fishing was kinda slow and I didn't do worth a darn to begin with, and then I realized I had left my lucky "MOJO" fishing hat in the back of the truck
Back to the ramp we went and Belinda retrieved my hat for me - COOL BEANS, I'm ready now
From the we idled over to a large laydown and instantly started sticking fish. Mostly 9 7/8" fish with an 1 hitting the box now and then.
I was having a blast just watching her stick some fish. She's about to get the art of finesse fishing down pat
Then I was watching her rod, saw the line jump, she set the hook and instantly the line started peeling out
After a brief battle, I netted a nice ditch pickle for her and you'd of thought she had just set the Lake Record
Tim and Glen had moved to Mustang and they missed the show
After a bit she hooked into the best fish of the day
I'm positive I had the best # count, but as usual, she was the
MVP, stealing the glory with her nice slabs.
Although the bite wasn't what it had been on my last trips out, we managed to have a very good morning scaling down, fishing Lil' Frys in Zombie Juice and Go-To greenie
We spent some time looking around at the graph, but decided to quit early, rest for a bit and then go get a bite to eat.
We left out heading to East Fork to get some of their yummy yardbird wings, but saw that Bros was open, turned around and both had a plate full of lightly breaded fresh shrimp, boiled corn on the cob, potatoes and cole slaw
Needless to say, I waddled back to the car with a full belly and a content feeling, knowing my Gal had a great day!
It was great to see and visit with Tim again and finally meet Glen. Good luck on Palestine Guys
