Go to Pleasure Island and bank fish near the causeway bridge. They
have a bait store there near the ramp. Talk to them about the best option now(shrimp). Just Google Map Pleasure Island and check area and roads out(highway 82).

Fish the south levee or keith lake. You also can head towards camron. Best bet is the south levee or north at night. If the north levee is open go all the way down to the last platform and fish off the rocks across the street there is a pipe that runs under the street to both sides. If the water is moving through that pipe into the bay cast right there popping corks and lures and you will hit specks in bunches.

Thanks FreeFall! Never been to Port Arthur and don't know where exactly is the north levee is. I hear there is a fishing pier at Walter Umphrey State Park, hows the fishing there? I'll be arriving in Port Arthur around 11:00pm and is there any bait shops still open at that time or can I cast net for bait? What size corks and lures? Any info is more than welcome and plenty of thanks in advance.

I lived in Bridge City for 34 years before I recently moved to Lake Conroe. Bridge City is just across the Rainbow Bridge from Port Arthur. I was actually born in P.A. Keiths Lake is actually considered to be in Sabine Pass, TX which is about 15-20 minutes from P.A. If you plan on heading that way you might as well go to the 4 way intersection in Sabine Pass and go straight a few miles to Dick Dowling Park and fish there. You can get specs, reds, and flounder. Possibly other big fish as well. You can google Dick Dowling Park and check out where it is. Easy to find.
