now mind ya once again we have this dilemma ,is it old enough to even know what direction ? probably needs more training is my initial thought . not enough light left in the day to hook up the minnow . and yes I saw an ever so slight glint of ss minner in his eye as well what should I have done ? jump in the truck head west and find whatever he was pointing at maybe ? keep in mind ketchn crappie off the bank aint all that likely in the summer . and to top it off there are them ever pesky bream to deal with as well

it aint off to a good start folks , lots a pecks and a few dunks here and there . bunches a misses on the hook sets and bream city it was .....must fish deeper is my thought . 6 to 7 foot under a float aint getting it dun ,maybe a color change as well ....maybe a free fall pitch and drag ? extra light jig ....I seem to rememeber orange being a favorite here many months back ... to be sure the bream were good size and liked the orange as well ....come on crappie pretty please

well I am very short on time ....maybe an hour to figure it out ....hiked in and got to the water about 7 40 pm ....and the first crappie aint exactly what I have in mind . I am beginning to wonder if mister pocket turtle has a clue for sure

well that's about it . the skeeters is eating right thru my clothing , the snakes are getting thick , the light is fading quick ,the crappie are are small it seems and I keep pitching . there are monster crappie that reside in this spot for sure . but in this episode I seems they have eluded my jig once again , the sun fades in the distance and the slice of moon appears on the horizon . this trip is coming to a close and I have no big crappie to show for it . oh well there ya have it ...a 30 minute drive each way to go ketchn for an hour . the lack of daylight sends me packing as the sun slowly sets in west ....

Bluegill (bream) on an ultralight setup is as much fun as you can get and they are always biting (well, almost always).

I always switch to bluegill catching if the crappie won't cooperate. Which last year was the majority of the time.
