Im planning a trip to Lake Somerville next weekend to take my nephew on a much needed fishing trip. Ive never been to this lake and was wondering if I could get any input on what i could expect or any tips yall might have to get us a few fish in the boat. Thanks in advance!!

SHSU2011, I live in the area but don't fish the lake much. It is a tough LMB lake. Best luck is probably around Overlook Marina, mouth of the creeks or the rocks around Yeagua park. The white bass aren't schooling to the surface but they are catching a few trolling. There are lots of threads in the catfish section.

Catfish are still shallow, a few whites off the windy points in AM, not busting the surface yet!!Try the Birch creek area

Last year there was a couple areas holding grass. Look for those because that's where 90 percent of the bass were caught. Also pad areas can be productive if the lake has them still. Good luck.
