I have seen my fair share of things on a lake that make me scratch my head and ask did that really just happen? But this buzzbait strike takes the cake. I reeled a buzzbait back to the boat, sat the rod down in my lap, and three seconds later the bass attacked the buzzbait as it dangled over the water. Glad I had quick reflexes or I would have lost my rod!

Nice! Had a similar thing happen to me years ago while wade fishing... I was up to my lower chest chunkin' a TX rig worm in flooded cattails... I took a break between casts for a pinch of snuff & had my rod lying horizontal in my folded arms. The worm was dangling on about 6" of line about 8" above the water...WABOOSH! Scared the poopey outta me...lost a full can of snuff in the water...one of the craziest things I've seen while fishing. (and no, unfortunately I didn't land her)

I think fish sit under your boat, have caught fish that hit a frog or buzz bait right at the boat. Have seen several dart from under the boat to get the frog. Its fun when they do.

i had similar thing happen to me twice in one night. I guess my reactions were too fast as it scared me and i yanked faster than he could bite. Now I NEVER let any lure hang over the boat. It is really cool that you caught it on video.
