WTG Matthew! That 10 on the console & the 7 on the TM is gonna be one SWEET setup!! I didn't see the box but I guess you're adding the LSS2 and the Point1 for the TOTAL PACKAGE? Just to give people some advise on the "point 1" antenna. It will not work very well on the Elite units as I found out. The elite units will lock up while running with the point 1. I put three units on my rig trying to make it work but I ended up putting a HDS 5 up front to replace elite 7. That fixed the problem of locking up and works like a charm...

Your absolutely right Benny.
The Elite has a slower processor, but I don't see the need in the point 1 up front. Might be wrong. I'll just use the internal antenna with the Elite, I'm not at the moment going to share waypoints..
I'm thinking after locating the brush pile or structure with the console, find it and waypoint it up front and you can go right back to that waypoint and hopefully fish on!!!
I've been told the CHIRP is not an advantage in the lakes, it's more for deep costal water...
Please feel free to enlighten me Benny....

Matthew, I think you should be able to network the 2 units and share waypoints but keep the Elite set on its internal antenna. I could be wrong though.

My first Elite 7 was locking up without the "point 1" hooked up and the next one did ok until i hooked up the "point 1". I would have kept 3rd unit but the people at Cabela's told me that they had several Elite 7 units lock up on the display units in store so I decided to just get the HDS instead.
I agree that the "point 1" antenna working up front is not that necessary but if I have it, I would like to use it. It's really nice up front and I am glad I switched units...

The thing with having the "point 1" up front for me is being able to look down and see exactly where my waypoints are in relationship to the direction my boat is pointing at all times and when I run from one bp to the next using trolling motor, it works just like the one on console.
