 Caught my first Sailfish today!!

We are vacationing in Destin with the family this week and today we went fishing with Silver King Charters. We headed out about 6 and started trolling for King fish and caught a couple good one. About 9 am we were reeling in the baits and the deck hand spotted a huge fish following. He disappeared for a few seconds then came right back and that's when we saw it was a sail fish! We tried to get him to bit but he swam off again. The captain threw on a hard tail and tossed it out and was hooked up within 15 seconds. I fought it for about 30 minutes and finally got it up to the boat! Got a hand on it then he shook hard and swam right away. Here is a pic when she was up close to the boat! For a guy that really only fishes for bass it was an incredible day!

That's awesome, how far out were ya or how deep of water were ya in? I just started fishing there and a sail is on my list of fish to catch.

We were only about a mile or so off shore. We were fishing FAD's in about 70' of water I think at least. Our captain said it was the first one he has seen all year!
