First day back from vacation and man it was a good one. Larry Bruce and his brother in law Ben fished with me today on what was some of the best slab fishing I've seen this year. Big thanks to Mike at Moes Tackle as the godfather slabs I ordered just before I left for vacation were exactly what the fish wanted today. We started out the first couple hours trying to get em on top but it wasn't producing so we went looking for a slab run and found one right away. I was soaked down to my underwear by the end of the day but we had boated about 70 fish. We barely got to a two man limit of 20 fish because most of the fish we caught were over 20 inches with 10-12 fish being between 8 and 11 lbs. No real big fish today with the largest being around 11 lbs. but lots of big fish caught today. Only 16 under 20 inch fish caught all day today. It was a great welcome back the fish gave me today.
