My jon boat went on the sale block today. I do bank, wade, and kayak fish. I've even been known to frequent a fishing barge or two!

I'm heading over to Tyler for a birthday party for one of my kids' friends, so I'm thinking of hitting Tyler SP. I've heard it's a nice paddle.
Nissley's recommendation for a natural high: kayak fishing

I would recommend at least a 6 or 7wt. Floating line. I use a variety of flies depending on how the fish are staging. Large poppers for schooling fish. Clousers for fish staged no deeper than 8-10 feet. Heavy clousers or streamers on sink tip line for fish staged deeper (up to 40ish feet). I've recently tied some large streamers that rattle to imitate a Rattle Trap.

I like those!!! These also work really well. They are heavy enough to get deep enough into the water column and the glass beads rattle very nicely. Hopefully imitating a Rattle Trap sound. They also are long and flashy.

Since Im broke and cant afford gas to palces like Fork, etc. ill be sticking to the local waters. Probably the Trinity River in and around Fort Worth. Been having good luck on topwaters early hoping they will be fired up this weekend. Good luck to everyone fishing!
