First time on the water with my new boat.

Headed down to CC with my son. Launched at Don's/Lonestar.

Spent time on breaking in the motor and then did some fishing.

I managed to get two dink Sandies and one about a pound and a half.

Need to figure out how and where to find them.

Later in the day did find some birds busting shad on the surface but got nothing there except for the clam my son caught.

Also need to find a different ramp than Don's. That ramp is pretty steep for a 24' boat, parking is way too far away for this crippled old man to do on a regular basis. The lack of dock space was pretty bad. I realize it was a weekend but a couple of 'toon tied up to the dock is all it takes.

Did you try those spinners you made? I might want to see how they compare to Mepps.

That's all we fished. However not knowing where to find the fish made it a bit more difficult.

Re where to find them , see my post dated 7/19 which includes map of lake showing spots that hold white bass. Today I caught 65 from 9am to noon. They were at Spillway Hump in 12 to 15 fow, The Rock Pile in 12 to 15 fow and The Tennis Courts (not on map) in 15 to 16 fow. Didn't look at any other spots.

Thanks. I'll be giving that a try later this week.

Probably the best ramp on the lake is at Log Cabin, however it is also a hike to the parking lot, they do have handicapped parking. It is down hill half the time though.

334 might be tough as it has a blow out at the end of the ramp and longer trailers drop off.

198 ramp at Caney City also has a drop off.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

I'll check out Log Cabin.

Run through the middle of the bridge, there is foundation on the north side that has claimed several lower units.
