Okay you guys, I'm not asking for your secret spot or anything but where do you guys like to go Wading. A buddy of mine gave me his waders so I decided to give it a shot, I normally go to the port aransas jetty and I always see people Wading in the aransas pass area. Is it a good idea to go there? Please help smile

I'm in your same boat, I've been deep sea a lot out of Port A and San Diego but haven't done any inshore fishing. I have a 7 day trip coming up August 18th - 24th and I'm looking at doing as much wading as I can.

I found this article which is GREAT http://web.caller.com/2001/april/29/today/localspo/24782.html

I also had a member recommend using a 1/4 oz gold spoon on Brown and Root flats in the early morning to catch reds. I think that will be the first place I try on Tuesday morning.

Good Luck!

I had some good trout action wade fishing Thursday, strung 8 of'em between 8:30 - 11:30 am, released prolly around 15 or so undersized trout ... tides and moon phase were on my side wink

.... released some reds just short of 20" ... it's gonna get better when the weather gets cooler, but in some areas the trout fishing is pretty hot right now.

I ordered your DVD on Thursday. I'll be in Rockport from August 18th - 24th. My wife told me that I am REQUIRED to catch enough fish to feed our family/friends of 8 people for dinner on Wednesday night. If you've got any tips for that, I'd love to hear it. We won't get down there till late on Monday afternoon/early eve so I'm planing on hitting B&R on Tuesday around 7am with some gold spoons and super spook jr's. Hoping to get some reds then, what do you think?

Wow thanks a lot guys! Man I get more and more excited everyday, but where should I go? Should I be worried about sharks or dips in the water (so I don't fall in)

DSMCasey, I fish during the week since my son plays college & summer Lge. baseball on weekends year round, so contact me if you want when it gets closer to that time and I'll give you a report on this area via email about what's up around here. B&R should hold reds that time of year, but may be crowded ... well too crowded for me. wink

TheWeekender, I'd worry more about those friendly dolphins getting your trout than sharks. BTW, just lift your trout outta the water, ease into some shallower water and smile back at the dolphins if they get too close.
