Going out on Lewisville today. Hows the catch been lately? What/where have you had success? Just bought a new boat thought Id take it for a spin. Also What ramps are good for someone with little experience launching? I want to teach my mother how to launch just cause it would be useful information.

I launched from tower bay yesterday morning. Just a reminder you got to have a credit card to pay the 10 launch fee.

The bite was slow for me. Caught them in boat slips.

Tower Bay is an easy launch.

The lake is now just a valley. Dallas homeowners have watered their lawns to the extinction of Lake Lewisville.

Actually, Lew is up about two feet from where is was a couple weeks ago. Went out last Sunday....really tough bite. Only a couple sandbass, but plenty of rude, probably drunk boys driving Daddy's wakeboats out there. Best chance is to go out at sunup and be off by 10. Be safe

It might be up 2 ft. temporarily but it is still WAAAAAAAY down. I remember when you had to duck to get under the OLD Little Elm bridge.

They are dumping the lake to keep it down for construction AFAIK, not that I don't hate the over-watering of lawns as well...

and the lake came up a lot with rains we had. Tower bay is pretty well always your safest and best bet for launching at Lewisville. Fishing has been good on rocks and riprap. I hear tell marinas produce well but not that I've experienced much there (though admittedly not my forte)

I don't have any current info for you I haven't been out here this year, but normally you can catch fish in most of the marinas. I like trig, shaky heads, and jigs in the slips. Will usually throw a square bill down the outsides and as far as you can cast on the backsides. At the current lake level might be wasting time on the backsides. I usually fish 121, sneaky Pete's, and towerbay. Wish I had some better info for you, but just haven't been out there.

Not a lot of guys will give it away. . . but go fish Lakeview Marina, the tires and the slips. It doesn't get pounded as badly as Tower and Petes. And if you find them at the right time, it can be full of fish. A lot of little ones, but a few over 5 mixed in. I just flip the slips, looking on the scan for brush. When i see a few brushpiles, I'll slow down and give that spot a little more attention. Sometimes drop a dropshot down there and wiggle it for a minutes or two. If you can't catch bass there are usually crappie and whites hanging around too.

Yeah well I went out yesterday. Pretty [censored] experience to be honest. The [censored] from phill dill boats were all over the ramp (lewisville park ramp or whatever) And they were whipping in and stealing my lane as I was backing down. Not to mention all the very rude pwc's out there creating huge wakes. Even though I live in Lewisville and my boat is parked 3 minutes from the ramp. I will NEVER be returning to the lake. Lets just say I didnt even pull a rod out. Hogs on the boat ramp, etc. I know thats a given for any lake, but man the parking and everything was horrible. I think Ill just travel to fork every weekend from now on.

Sounds like typical Lew on a Saturday in summer. Don't give up on it.

Use arrowhead ramp on the Hickory creek side. Less of a crowd. The fishing has been pretty good. Fish during the week. Weekends get out early and off the water by 11 am and you don't have to deal with the crowd. Caught 10 or 12 fish yesterday. Couple of keepers but mostly smaller fish.

I fished out there this morning from six to ten. Caught seven all went two to three pounds. You have to fish Lewisville during the week, or from six am to ten am on the weekends. Otherwise you will have this...

You just have to try out different times. Like what has been said 6-10 is normally pretty good time. If you launch from tower bay heads towards the bridge and troll. You can normally hook up with a few hybrids between 6-10 feet. Im in a kayak but I caught about 4 hybrids in there and about 7 lmb off the rocks by the bridge (holding really close to the rocks). All in all its not that bad out there once you get away from the enormous wake board boats and pwcs.

Go to Ray Rob instead....much less traffic and you have plenty of places to fish....Lewisville is always overcrowded on the weekends....but you should expect that from a lake that's in the city.

I fish it most Fridays from 6:#0-10:30 with no issues, and some Saturday/sunday afternoons with little to no issues or drama. If it stressed you out that much to share the lake, you may just be a small part of the problem...

It definitely its not a fishing-centric lake like Fork so if that's what you're expecting, you're going to have a horrible time.
