I recently upgraded my yak game and went with a decently used Native Ultimate 14.5 from ACK, and its working out awesome.

Love the Tandem feature for when my GF wants to fish also. And its easily rocked solo.
I've been practicing actually fishing out of it because I was so used to a Canoe. Short trips right down the road for only a few hours in a relatively small body of water. (that also had a lot of bass and sunfish in it)

Been catching nice bull Sunfish on the spinner lately-love catching them on a lure

Ive got the hook set down and today actually hung a fish standing. Which is a huuuge plus in my opinion. Love standing up to fish and even better in a kayak.
Went to a spot I've only really ever caught bluegill at and haven't ever really fished it.
Ended up catching 6 catfish-5 channels and one little yellow. All on a Rooster. Only one or two were keepers.
but I caught one nice bass. nothing to brag about, but I wanted to believe they were there. and they are.

Caught him fishing the docks. He fought like a champ too.
This was also my first time out in that big of a body of water (which isn't really that big anyways)
I wanted to fish a new spot and test how my kayak handles and covers ground.
Everything worked out great!
im addicted now.. hammer hammer

Yea dude they really are good for introducing someone like that to the sport. And if she likes it, then you're golden!
there are other tandem models out there that are sit on top and a bit shorter, that you can get for a better price.
I just wanted the option of fishing it solo, and the native converts in a few seconds.
plus it isn't bad having a 14 footer, standing up is a breeze.
