Went for a short trip on the San Marcos River yesterday afternoon. I'm still pretty new to this kayak fishing thing but I really enjoy it. I caught three nice perch and a bass that was about 14 inches. It flopped off the yak before I could get a picture of it though. All fish were released to fight another day. Everything was caught on a light action rod and a mepps aguila.

Looks like a super day on the San Marcos River. Nice Redbreast. Good job.  Side Note: Love that river especially between San Marcos and Luling.  That water is crystal clear and there are some very nice fish in that river.

I love it out there also. I usually try and fish down stream of dons fish camp. To many tubers this time of year for me.

That water is crystal clear and there are some very nice fish in that river. Just a heads up on river conditions at Luling. The City of Luling is doing work on Zedler Dam and have turned the river flow thru the old power chute resulting in the river level behind the dam to drop about 10 ft. I'm sure that will make it inpossible to kayak from the Highway 90 bridge to the dam. The city says it may be this low for three to four weeks.
Snowflakes and entitled brats will be the doom of America!
