Last two days have been Brutal and very humbling. AM, daytime, PM not much for me. I know even Jesus came down from the mountain, but I think it was a gradual decent. Anyone out there having success?

Had a hard time last weekend, only had 2 tiny bass.

Did notice insane amounts of baitfish. Probably making things a little harder.

One dink for me last Tuesday, 3 keepers in 8 hours Saturday. Only bites I had both days, all were caught slowly dragging a jig or crig. Has been tough the last week for me

Most lakes received a ton of rain, bass fed well during that time frame & the lake temp dropped 12 degrees.

May take a few days for the fish to adjust.

Interesting you bring this up. I went out at the beginning of the coll front last Friday afternoon at a local pond, and the topwater bite was really good (caught 3-4 in 1.5 hours). Saturday morning was even better (5-6 on topwater in a couple hours), then it slowed down Saturday evening (1-2 in 1.5 hours).

Then came the return of the warm weather on Sunday morning. Sunday morning...not one bote in 3 hours. Sunday evening...not one bite in 2 hours. Monday afternoon....not one bite in 1.5 hours.

It went from pretty darned good to REALLY bad quickly. I think I'm going to wait for the next 'polar vortex' to come through the D/FW area in about 7-8 days. I'd fish a spinnerbait, but the pond I've been fishing in is waay too weedy/mossy for that.

One thing I've been doing the last few days is fishing a Zoom Horny Toad and a 4in Senko both weightless.

I use 12lb line so the baits fall really slow. I've been almost fishing them like a jerkbait....count to 3-4 and pop it a lil. Even at 12-2pm it's been landing fish.

I've also shrunk my bait sizes...went from a traditional bass spinner bait to an H&H spinner...been catching way more on that as well.

Hope it helps!

The first thing in the morning bite seems to be ok for me....but I've been getting my butt handed to me in the evening. All the normal things are not working....so I tried some different things and that didn't help either. For me it's get out early or not at all...

My buddies and I have been having a lot of trouble lately as well. It certainly has been humbling that is for sure. My wife asks me if I'm going fishing and Im starting to reply "Nope just going to work on my tan."

My son and I went out from 5pm-8pm on Tuesday night at RayBob and it stunk. Caught two bass on worm and SB. Biggest was 2lbs. stinky.....I did teach the boy how to back the trailer at the ramp so all in all it was a very successful trip.

Hey, any day you get to go out with your son is a good one. Good that he learns how to back the boat...

I caught 4 dinks last night on Lees favorite water. A friend of mine won the Grapevine workin mans with 4.5 lbs last night. They got to eat sometime, hopefully soon.
