My buddy has a smaller merc that needs a little work done. He lives in Katy, so something on the west side out that direction would be best. Anyone know a good place?

probably best to just take it to bass pro. I can't see that being a good experience. Have you used them?

Not sure why the negative feedback on BassPro in Katy... I have always had a great experience when I take my Nitro in for routine maintenance, and they have always delivered before the quoted date!
Excellent service managers and the head mechanic is very professional, always taking the time to walk me through everything he did when I pick it up with tips on things to increase my knowledge of the Merc 150.

If Strack's is still there on Louetta in Spring he is a stand up guy and will treat you right. For a long time he would not work on Merc's but I think he started working on them several years ago.

Best Merc mechanic in Houston is Strack's Boat service. I don't know of anyone better and I have dealt with them for 15 years. Ask for David Frank or Clayton frank.
