Lucky there wasn't any hail in that storm, our Daughter called as it was moving in. They lost 2-trees, snapped them off, the next door neighbor had been burning limbs, etc.. earlier in the day-with zero wind. The strong winds caused the fire to rise up and catch her pier on fire, they had 2-trucks down there putting the fire out. Pretty exciting evening, fortunately we didn't lose any trees, son&law said the back yard was full of limbs and clumps leaf's. I guess we'll be down tomorrow and ck it out, glad you weren't hurt Mark, that's a scary deal on the water, no where to hide..

Glad you made it off the lake safely. Maybe I'm just getting old and soft, but big water in high wind is one of the scariest combinations I can think of....ditto!

Glad you made it in safely, can get bad quick on the water luckily I have never had that happen in freshwater. Did have a storm move in fast fishing 50mi offshore about 7 years ago, never thought I was going to make it in that day. Was the only time I have been scarred on the water.

Mark, glad you made it back safe. Me & hubby got caught in high winds on Texoma but our Champion never took a wave over the bow but the Ranger next to us did. It was so scary. I'm in Little Mustang too and see guys launch their boats in storms, this I don't understand. I can see the boat ramp from my deck and I have seen boaters launch in lighting and trying hard to get in from main lake. I keep an eye out just in case I need to call for help. Maybe I'll see you on the ramp in our Champion or you may see us running around on our Red Golf Cart with Texas Ranger flag.

Had that happen to me on Ray Roberts many years ago. My buddy and I were the last ones to get our boat on a trailer. Watched several boats get swamped while beached at the ramp, pulled one guy out that got bloodied when he tried to protect his boat from another, heard that several boats sunk that day. Crazy, bad stuff, glad that you are OK.

Phone is DOA. They think its just the phone itself and not the storm that killed it. It had no water damage but screen burned out. They are gonna overnight me a new one.

Crazy, bad stuff, glad that you are OK. I was there, you must be talking about Jordan ramp when the sky turned green. My dad and I barely made it to the shoreline by the ramp but our bass tracker did sink on shore with many others. That night the news said 70 - 80 mph straight line winds. Pretty much every fisherman stayed and helped each boater get thier boat floating and collected there stuff for the rest of the day after that thing blew through. That was truely scary. Anyways to the op, I am glad you made it off fork safely, the storms seem to come through that area fast for sure.

Yeah Razorback. I think I was with you that day on Rayburn. It was scary. Glad nothing worse than a phone happened to you Mark.

Glad you are ok. good lesson here about not chancing it. I've never been caught on fork but I had this happen on Rayburn and in 5 minutes there were 8 footers rolling into Umphreys. after 10 minutes they were over 10 foot. better to wait it out than loose your boat or your life trying to get back.
